About one thousand Bank branches around Greece opened on Wednesday to allow pensioners to receive a small part of their benefits. Greece's last-minute overtures to international creditors for financial aid on Tuesday were not enough to save the country from becoming the first developed economy to default on a loan with the International Monetary Fund. If a 'No' in Sunday's referendum eventually takes Greece out of Europe's single currency, any "new drachma" or temporary payment unit could be worth as little as a fifth of the euro now in circulation. Ribuan warga Yunani bersahutan memekikkan "No".
